Give A Hoot

RUNNING FOR CHARITY.
SAVING THE WORLD ONE HOOTER AT A TIME.

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the website for my 2010 New York City Marathon fundraiser, nicknamed Purple Hooters.  This year I am running to raise money for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.  They are a wonderful institution dedicated solely to studying and treating cancer.  MSKCC is presently treating my very best friend, who is only 28, for breast cancer.

If you click through the tabs you will learn more about us, MSKCC, and the importance of donating today.

But first, why Purple Hooters?!  Well like I said, my best friend has breast cancer.  Her favorite color is purple.  Get it?  Good.

And wait, there’s more!  There is also a drink called the purple hooter.  My sister is going to be serving it to everyone who joins us at the marathon on Sunday, November 7th.

Consequently, I will be running dressed in all purple.  This includes a purple tutu as well.  Yes, you read that right,
I am running 26.2 miles in a purple tutu!

So if you happen to spot a large and loud crowd of people along the marathon course, all dressed in purple, with owl and purple balloons, and hooting (rather than cheering), you will have found our group!  Please feel welcome to join for a purple hooter (Yes boys, I am referring here only to the drink) and some Marathon fun.

Thank you for your support.  Hope to see you out along the race course in just a few more weeks!
